Review: The Lifestyle Fitness studio was a full gym, which is fully up to western standards and was the most modern place I trained whilst in Sri Lanka. It appears to be built in an annex to the owner’s house. The gym who runs this gym is called Sanjee and he made me feel very welcome from the start. This is a great gym with a friendly welcome.
This gym had all the equipment you would expect to find in a good gym in London, including:
- Dumbbells up to 32.5kg.
- kettle bells,
- cross trainers,
- running machine,
- smith machine,
- incline bench,
- flat bench,
- trap bar,
- leg extension,
- lat pull down
- a few other machines.
Entrance on a day pass cost me 500rps (est £2.50)
Sanjeev also sells protein shakes for 500rps and water is free in the gym. Sanjeev imports all his protein from the USA and uses brands that I knew from back home. They burn incense in the gym so there is a nice smell too.
I understand that this gym also offers group classes for all levels of fitness, so if this is more your thing then contact Sanjee and he can provide you details of the classes.
Who is this gym for? Recommend to this gym to people all levels of fitness. Whilst I was there I also saw a number of Sri Lankan women who were training there too. As such, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this gym to men and women of all fitness levels.
Tip: You can’t wear your outside shoes inside the gym, so I would advise you to bring a pair of trainers or flip-flops to change into.
